OUR STORY

THE DUO

Our story started all the way back in 2012 when two high schoolers crossed paths and became best friends. Since then our story went from dates, marriage, to two kids and a dream of owning our own business. Starting out, our dream was to own a business that focused it's attention in the clothing industry through the art of fashion but with a fast growing family and starting at the very early stages of a worldwide pandemic we decided to take a break. During that break we were asked to help out a wonderful friend of ours to help decorate her entire house. We have always had a keen eye for beautiful things but have never taken on the challenge of interior decorating. She trusted our creativity and skills from start to finish and resulted her a place to call home and a dream to create that sense of "home" for others.

After finishing our project, we were not only thrilled with the outcome but were encouraged by several others to take our eye for design and do it for a living. With the support of our friends and family, current interior design schooling at New York Institute of Art & Design, we feel like it's time to step out on faith and further our career in interior decorating and design.

THE NAME

House Of Cedar became our name because of one main reason. OUR FAITH. Our family has a heritage of faith and trust in the Lord, so when searching for a name for our business we intentionally picked something biblical. We knew if this was something the Lord was  calling us to do we would start by hand picking a name that would point back to Him. In the Bible, there are many different stories in which cedar is significant. Cedar is also used to refer to a type of the Christian, being evergreen, beautiful, aromatic, wide spreading, slow growing, long lived, and having many uses.
